In the Game "Wild Web Woods" you will learn all you need to know to travel on the "World Wide Web. (This is a very long name for the internet).
The Internet is full of challenges and even might be dangerous at some time. Therefore the people from the European Counsil have made this game to help all pupils in Primary Education to Navigate Safe on the Internet AND to understand Children's' Rights
Join W@b, the spider, on her adventures in the Wood.
The final destination is de E-city, a wonderful city, where you can find joy, peace and freedom for all.
However before you reach this magical place, you need to cross the "WWW" - the Wild Web Wood.
Be prepared because on your trip you will have to overcome many adventures and dangers. Be careful and learn from your mistakes.
This game is made for all pupils in Primary Education in Europe who are able to read and write. Not sure you this is for you? Just try it!
This one of the coolest games on the internet that is used for educational purposes and is not boring. The game is one big adventure and on your travel through the woods you wil encounter many fun mini-games.
And you know what? You can play this game over and over again, using every time an other language. Did you played it in 3th grade in English. To make it more fun you can choose a name for your super hero. You can use your own name but is it not more fun to find a very cool name? If you choose your own name we recommend not to use your full name. It is an online game so don't leave to many online footprints, nobody needs to now your high score in this game as it is not about winning. Don't forget the name you used. You will need to use it again when you pauze before you can restart the game.
Because the people of the European Counsel want to keep statistics they will ask you to leave your age and the country you life in. No worries, this are people that you can trust! Last you will be asked to state wether you are a girl or a boy. Again statistics to prove that girls and boys equally love playing games
Another very cool feature in this game .. you can choose the looks and powers of your super hero. If you choose to be a knight you will get a sword, a ranger a bow and a pirate .. he has a shark!
To reach this city, you have to concur all the obstacles in the wild wood. You will have to cross 4 cities where you will uncover interesting things. You will need to collect as many as possible coins to pay for your travel on the way. Don't worry this is not real money and you don't actually have to pay! Be aware when you play other games as sometimes the fake money is not so fake. When in doubt, always ask an adult to help you.
In this game the coins have names; (I) Info, (S) Security and (A) Attention
Arrows on your screen or PC will help you to navigate in the Wood.
The key needs to be found and brought back to the town-gate safely. The town-gate is your entry to the next city. Be careful that you don't bang against anything, because then you drop your key and have to look for it again.
In the game you will find text banner. They will inform you about "Children Rights". This are your rights too so read them carefully and collect them to help children in need.
You will find those children in need when you use the Map of the Wild Web Woods. When you find a child who needs your help, use your mouse en click on your hero to help the child. Select the Text banner with the information you need to help the child.
At the end when you have saved all the children in need there is one more game we love; the Scroll Run. Hope you will love it as much as we do.
You can use this came when you have a special week around Children's Rights, Online Safety in your school. Let all the children play the game and at the end you discuss all there adventures and things they learned on their journey in the Wild Web Woods.
