In Roman Times, every city had atleast a Forum. It was a central place where citizens could come together to share and try to solve each others problems. In the end they came to a conclusion by voting for the best idea. The most famous example of a forum is the Forum Romanum, in Rome (Italy). You could say the place looks ruinous now but back then it used to be a place bursting of activity.
We have something similair to a forum at sCool. We call it the Idea Box. This is a digital place where you, the students, can come together to suggest new ideas. Here you can give remarks, discuss and then in the end come to a conclusion on what the best idea is. This way everyone is involved in the voting process. It's a real democracy so your opinion counts!
Got a good idea? Are you looking for ideas on a certain subject? Open a new discussion (a topic) in the Idea Box by clicking on "+ Add Topic".
Next you will be lead to a screen that asks you to formulate a question that descibes your idea. This is a similair screen as when you maken an article or a Share-A-Thought. You can add text but also photos and videos to make it more interesting.
Let's give you an example to show you how to vote: These children wanted to make a simple white wall into something more fun. As you can see, there have been quite some intersting ideas. You can vote for the ideas you think are interesting by 'liking' them. You can vote for more than one idea by liking multiple ideas.
You can also share your thought on the forum by leaving a comment. Down below you will see a box where you can do that. When you're done writing down your opinion, you can press 'Post Reply' to publish the comment.
The idea to paint the wall in different colours has gotten the most likes. This means that the majority wants this to happen. Now the person that originally started the forum topic can mark this idea by clicking on 'mark as resolution'. That means that the best idea was the best one and has been chosen.
